We strongly encourage our puppy buyers, and any Boxer owner, to participate in other activities with their dogs. The Boxer was created to be the ideal all-around working dog – not the master of a specific task, but able to perform a variety of tasks quite well. As a result, a growing number of Boxer owners are competing successfully in both standard all-breed performance events, such as Rally, Obedience, and Agility, but also in more specialized events such as Dock Diving, Coursing, and even Herding.
AKC Family Dog
With increasing anti-dog legislation across the country, the American Kennel Club is working to promote good manners in all dogs. To assist with that effort, they’ve created the AKC Family Dog program, which includes various activities that encourage dog-owner bonding and socialized, well-mannered dogs.

Performance Events
Performance events provide a means to evaluate a dog’s ability in the field. Performance events include both test and trials. In tests, a dog’s performance is judged against an established standard. It is a pass/fail event. In trials, a dog’s performance is judged against that of the other competitors.

Other Dog Sports
Whatever your interest, there’s likely a dog sport to fit it. You can choose a sport that awards placements and rankings, or one where your only competition is yourself. Many of these sports are virtual and can be cone on your own time. Some are AKC recognized, but all are fun things you can do with your dog.
